ADSL is Out
A few months ago Telkom announced their intention to discontinue their copper network infrastructure.
This means that they will no longer be offering ADSL internet or (in the future) a landline telephone service.
That means that you need to choose an alternative to method to connect to the internet and make calls.
The Alternatives to ADSL
Your Alternatives to ADSL are Fibre and LTE.
LTE offers a wireless internet signal which one connects to via a SIM which is inserted in a special router (modem). The disadvantage of LTE is that the network quality is often poor, connection can be intermittent, and the data is VERY expensive.
For these reasons Faircape does not offer LTE.
FIBRE is the best connection you can get.
Fibre is the most reliable internet connection you can get, it’s the fastest internet connection you can get, and in most cases it works out cheaper than ADSL (after you have removed the cost of a landline, phone connection and ADSL line, which are all essential to ADSL, but which you DO NOT NEED for Fibre.)
Because Fibre is so stable and so fast, it opens up a whole new world of possibilities.
